Smart lighting makes it easier to use the home the way you actually live. Instead of adjusting several switches one at a time, lights can be grouped into rooms, areas and scenes.
That might mean one button for Dinner, Entertain, Movie or Goodnight. It can also mean cleaner walls, more consistent dimming and controls that work the same way throughout the house.
As the system becomes more connected, lighting can also work with shades and other home automation. Some people call this intelligent lighting. The idea is simple: the lighting works as part of the home rather than as a collection of separate devices.

What is the difference between smart lighting and lighting automation?
Smart lighting can refer to connected switches, dimmers or bulbs. Lighting automation usually means coordinating multiple lights, rooms and scenes as one system.
What is intelligent lighting?
Intelligent lighting is another way of describing lighting that works as part of a larger home experience, such as scenes, schedules, shades or automation. It does not necessarily mean artificial intelligence.
What is the difference between RadioRA 3 and HomeWorks?
Both are Lutron lighting-control platforms. RadioRA 3 is a strong fit for many residential projects, while HomeWorks may be considered when the design, integration or control requirements are more extensive.
Can smart lighting be added during a remodel?
Yes. A renovation or remodel can be a good time to review lighting controls because fixtures, wiring and walls may already be changing. The available options depend on the existing conditions and the scope of the project.
